I learned a new construction term today: Sister it Up.
It means to place side by side to make a structure stronger.
As in, this weight is too much to bear so don’t hold it alone.
Let another seizure mom drive you to her very favorite neurologist; let your friends stay with your boys so you can go on a date; let the therapists write ridiculous letters to the insurance company; let your special educator friends talk you through your IEP; let your girlfriends book you a massage; let your school team share their hopeful goals; let your friends listen when you cry; let your community build you an accessible home.
How many ways can I love this term? Aidan’s medical journey has been sistered up; my life has been sistered up; this home will be sistered up. This is what it means to be in community, to do life together.

Well said heather!!!!!!
Right on, sistah!
