Robbie Foundation

The Robbie Foundation  was started by a mom who knows our journey well. Lynn’s son Robbie has Cerebral Palsy. He, like Aidan, is non-verbal and non-ambulatory. Lynn experienced great generosity from her community. She used her gift to gather people together and encourage their generosity. The Robbie Foundation funds items such as adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and hippotherapy for families affected by disability in Maine. Here is a mom who used her challenging and sometimes exhausting experiences raising a child with a disability to reach out and help others.

We’d like to thank the Robbie Foundation for funding replacement parts for Aidan’s lift. We live in a raised ranch which needs a lift. Some parts have gotten significantly rusty over the years. That issue will be addressed in our construction by having a covered lift and entryway.

Thank-you Lynn for your dedication and for being a beautiful example of building community.

About Heather Bowie

I’m the mother of two wonderful boys and have been married almost 20 years to an amazing Irishman I met in a castle. Our oldest son Liam loves to read and run. Our younger son Aidan loves to drive his power chair and socialize. Aidan has a rare genetic disease (PURA Syndrome) and Epilepsy. This blog was birthed out of the desire to tell our story, and in doing so, appreciate the journey.
